Your details, and what we do with them

Who we are

Pray My Street is a prayer map being built for its founder by BozApps. BozApps is the trading name of Semir Kahrimanovic, a sole trader in England. While the project is being built, he operates this website and is the data controller for anything you give us through it. You can reach us at semir@bozmaps.com.

What we collect

Only what you type into the interest form:

• your name and email address
• your church or group, if you give it
• whether you would use it on a phone, a computer or both
• the fact that you ticked the consent box, and the wording you agreed to

We also record the page you were on (including any tag in the link you followed, such as one printed on a leaflet or added to a shared link), the site that referred you (if any), your browser type and the country your connection came from. We do not store your IP address.

Why this is treated as sensitive

Registering interest in a prayer app tells us something about your religious beliefs. Under UK data protection law that is special-category data, so we only hold it with your explicit consent, and we ask for it in plain words rather than burying it. The box you tick says:

“I would like to hear about Pray My Street and be considered for early testing. I understand this tells you I am interested in a prayer app, and I agree to my details being stored for that purpose until I ask for them to be removed.”

Our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), and for the sensitive part, your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).

What we use it for

• to email you when there is something to try, and to invite you to early testing if you asked to be considered
• to send you occasional updates about Pray My Street itself, such as how it is coming along and when it opens
• to send you the letter, if that is what you asked for: one street to pray for and how far the map has got, once a month at most. Every letter has a link that stops it in one click
• to understand roughly where interest is coming from, so the first testing group is a sensible spread

Nothing else. No marketing for anyone else, no sharing with anyone, no selling, ever. If you would rather not have the updates, tell us and we will stop.

Where it is kept

In a database hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Ireland), behind access controls, and reachable only by the people building the project. This website is served by Vercel. When you sign up, Resend sends us an email to say so, and it will send the letter when there is one. None of these companies uses your details for anything of their own. All three are based in the United States, so your details can be handled there. Where that happens it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires: the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified, and otherwise the UK’s standard contract terms for international transfers.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or until twelve months after the app is publicly launched, whichever comes first. After that the interest list is deleted. If you asked for the letter, we keep your name and email address for as long as you want it, and remove them when you stop it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. We use Vercel’s privacy-friendly analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. There are no advertising trackers.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• withdraw your consent and be removed from the list
• ask for a copy of what we hold about you
• ask us to correct it, to stop using it for a while, or to hand it to you in a form you can take elsewhere
• complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk

Email semir@bozmaps.com for any of these. We will act within a month, usually much sooner, and it costs nothing. If something is wrong, please tell us first so we can put it right.

The app itself

The app, and the pages that open when someone shares a street with you, have their own privacy notice, written to the same standard. Its founding rules: no location data, ever; no names on the shared map; your own prayer record kept private to you; no adverts, and your information never sold. This notice covers the rest of the website.

The street search and today's street on the home page work the same way as those pages. What you type is sent to the Pray My Street database to find streets and towns, and is not kept with anything about you. Praying opens the street's own page, which asks for your consent first and is covered by the app's notice. The live map shows only counts of prayers and streets and the towns they are in: no names, no accounts and no exact times.
